Jochen Burg becomes new CEO of the SMS group
The SMS group is initiating a significant generation change in its management. Jochen Burg (43), currently responsible for the service business, will become the new CEO and chairman of the management board of the SMS group as of October 1, 2023. He succeeds Burkhard Dahmen, who worked for the company for a total of 33 years. Of these, he was a member of the management board for 20 years and chairman for eleven years. Burg has been with the SMS group since 2008 and has been instrumental in the growth and development of the global service business.
Fabíola Fernandez joins SMS group as CFO
In addition, Fabíola Fernandez (46) will join the company on October 10, 2023. She will assume the position of CFO on the Executive Board as of January 1, 2024. Fernandez succeeds Torsten Heising, who has held various management positions at the SMS group since 2006 and was appointed CFO in 2017. She joins from Gegenbauer SE & Co. KG Berlin, a facility management company, where she is currently CFO and co-CEO.
