Chalco Ruimin Co.,Ltd, held by Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), one of the world’s largest aluminium producers, has contracted Tenova a continuous annealing line and a chemical pretreatment line for processing strip coils for aluminium market, to be realized in Fuzhou Economic Technical Development Area, China’s South Eastern Coast.
The two new lines will process automotive and aircraft aluminium alloys, family series 5XXX,6XXX and 7XXX, with a strip width range from 1,000 mm up to 2,200 and thickness range from 0.5 up to 4 mm. The envisaged total production for the continuous annealing line is 100,000 t/a with a process speed of 80 m/min, while for the chemical line is 120,000 t/a with a process speed of 60 m/min. The thermal line is equipped with an entry side trimmer and a degreasing section. The exit side includes a tension leveler, an automatic surface inspection system and a rotary shear. Chemical process starts with an acid tunnel etching section, followed by a no-rinse spray titanium zirconium passivation and a special innovative squeegee roll coater. This coater grants a uniform deposit of the oxylane product for the strip used for automotive adhesive bonding application. Both lines are equipped with double unwinding pay off reels and with a tailor-made stitcher with two dies and automatic spray lubrication system. The lines will start their production at the beginning of 2019. After the engineering phase, the most critical and technological equipment will be manufactured and pre-assembled directly in Tenova headquarters in Italy, also to shorten the commissioning phase at the plant and satisfy client’s request in terms of time schedule. This new order confirms Tenova as a reliable supplier in processing lines for aluminium thanks to its continuous effort to improve the design and the manufacture of its supply to maximize line availability.
