QMAG owns one of the world’s largest deposits of cryptocrystalline magnesite. Mined in the open pit method, the ore is processed into high-quality fused (FM), dead burned (DBM), and caustic calcined (CCM) magnesia in the nearby Rockhampton production site.
The integration of QMAG capacities into the Refratechnik Group will supplement the existing activities and partnerships in the raw materials field in an ideal manner. Apart from supplying Refratechnik’s own facilities with raw materials for the production of top quality refractory goods, QMAG makes a decisive contribution for the expansion of their range of products and services in the industrial minerals sector. Consequently, the company alliance of Baymag in Canada, QMAG in Australia, and Haicheng Guozheng in China has turned the Refratechnik Group into a global partner for their customers also for industrial minerals.
Similarly, the alliance has been strengthened even more QMAG’s large ore reserves and production capacities, thereby guaranteeing secure supplies for their customers for decades.
