With ALUMINUM USA, scheduled to take place from 11 to 12 November 2015 at the Cobo Center Detroit, Reed Exhibitions expands its event activities into one of the aluminium industry’s most important regions worldwide.

The US market, the aluminium industry’s third-largest global market with total industry sales of 35.0 billion US$, has grown by 4.7 % annually since 2009, resulting in overall growth of 30 % over the last five years (source: IBISWorld Industry Report, July 2014). Key growth drivers include the automotive and aerospace sectors. In order to meet the rapidly growing demand in both areas, nearly all aluminium manufacturers are currently expanding their production capacities through upgrades or acquisitions. In the automotive sector alone, the demand for aluminium in the US increased by 22.1 % last year.

“The aluminium industry in the United States is all set for growth. All indicators – key production figures, processing quantities and planned capacity increases – make it clear that demand will continue to grow rapidly in future”, says Michael Köhler, event director of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH and brand manager of ALUMINIUM global. Reed Exhibitions expects about 100 exhibitors and up to 2,000 trade visitors at ALUMINUM USA, which will take place every other year.

“With the US presence, which was suggested by the industry itself, ALUMINIUM is closing a gap as part of its ALUMINIUM goes global strategy”, says Hans-Joachim Erbel, CEO of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH. For companies with international operations, it provides a point of entry to the aluminium industry’s most dynamic markets. ALUMINIUM trade fairs currently take place in Düsseldorf, Shanghai, Mumbai, Dubai and São Paulo.
