The focus will be a congress, organised in partnership with the German aluminium association, Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V. (GDA), and will address the future of the aluminium industry.
“We are confident that the new dates will provide us with the ability to ensure a safer event and provide our exhibitors and visitors more time to plan their attendance,” said Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein, CEO of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland. “The still unclear developments of the pandemic and general uncertainty have prompted us to reassess the situation. For us, the priority is to minimise the health and economic risks to all participants and to avoid unnecessary costs,” Binder-Krieglstein continued.
Future prospects of the aluminium industry
The focus of the trade fair and the congress programme will include the future prospects of the aluminium industry, the digitalisation of the value chain, sustainable mobility and the Green Deal. “The entire aluminium industry is facing a future-facing transformation. In September, we will provide the industry with the platform to address these important challenges and position aluminum as a key material of the future. In doing so, we will also examine how we can ideally combine physical and digital components. With the September 2021 event, we will also provide an outlook on the future direction and topics of the subsequent ALUMINIUM 2022,” concluded Binder-Krieglstein.
“It is important for us to take another run-up with the event in September and to offer our industry a prominent stage for industry dialogue with ALUMINIUM,” added Marius Baader, Managing Director of Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V. (GDA). “We urgently need this platform. After our markets collapsed last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we need the exchange to discuss important topics and propel the industry forward,” Baader finished.
This is also the view of the European industry association: “The aluminium industry is still focused on overcoming the crisis. In addition, we face the challenge of continuing to drive the transformation to a climate-neutral and circular economy in Europe. ALUMINIUM in an adapted format can make an important contribution to this,” said Dr. Gerd Götz, Director General of European Aluminium.
