71st Heat Treatment Congress 2015 is approaching

After the successful start in Cologne last year, the Heat Treatment Congress 2015 provides even further extended hall space for the trade fair and an improved spatial concept for the congress: The congress hall moves into the hall opposite the exhibition. Now the participants have the opportunity to visit the exhibition even in the shorter breaks during the congress.

Last year the organizing Association for Heat Treatment and Materials Technology (AWT) recorded a growth of 10 % of the congress and a growth of as much as 30 % of the affiliated exhibition. With approximately 200 exhibiting companies this year’s trade fair is even growing further.
The main topics of the congress will include:

  • Influences on heat treatment arising from process chain,
  • Characteristics and application of quenching media,
  • Non-destructive testing of components,
  • Recent innovations in the field of materials and heat treatment engineering, manufacturing and process technology.

Further highlights of the congress programme are the plenary presentation “Shaken not stirred! James Bond in the focus of physics” by Dr. Metin Tolan, professor at the University of Dortmund, and the bestowal of the “Adolf Martens Medal” to Eric J. Mittemeijer, as well as the granting of the “Paul Riebensahm Award” to Anne Jung.
Additional details on the 71st Heat Treatment Congress that takes place from 28th to 30th October 2015, and product previews of the exhibiting companies you can find in heat processing‘s Heat Treatment Congress Special or on the website: www.hk-awt.de

Swegon is advancing a more resource-efficient and circular construction industry with the launch of the next-generation GOLD air handling unit, generation G. Designed to meet rising HVAC and building-sector demands, over 70% of the total steel weight is now represented by recycled steel and almost 60% of the total material weight is recycled material. As a result, the new unit – significantly reduces its embodied carbon while maintaining the performance and reliability expected of a GOLD unit.
