Metal + Metallurgy China 2017 opens in June

As Asia’s largest and the world’s second largest exhibition in metal and metallurgical industry, Metal + Metallurgy China 2017 (a collective name for the 15th China International Foundry Expo, the 17th China International Metallurgical Industry Expo and the 15th China International Industrial Furnaces Exhibition) will be staged at Shanghai New International Expo Centre on 13–16 June 2017.

Compared with the last edition held in Shanghai, Metal + Metallurgy China 2017 will provide a perfect display and trade platform for global exhibitors and buyers with stronger exhibitor lineup, more cutting-edge technical innovation, more convenient hall facility and better professional services. The exhibition scale is estimated to 110,000 m2.
With the issue of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the China’s steel industry has ushered brand new development opportunity as a key field. Made in China 2025 Plan has listed ten key development fields which are all closely related to the steel industry. A series of the state’s key strategic policies including the Belt and Road Initiative, the Outline of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Collaborative Development and the Development Planning Outline of Yangtze River Economic Zone has also stimulated the demand for steel. Under this background, Metal + Metallurgy China 2017 will promote the sales market of foundry and steel industries and improve the contradiction resolution of steel overcapacity.
The organizers will set a new layout for Metal + Metallurgy China 2017. Hall W1-W5 is for foundry exhibition, Hall N1-N2 is for international exhibitors, Hall N3 is for metallurgy exhibition and Hall N4 is for industrial furnaces exhibition. In order to display a complete industrial chain and achieve the integration of upstream and downstream in metallurgical and foundry industries, Metal + Metallurgy China 2017 will set new display sectors such as die-casting, Industrial Automation, forging and aluminium industry and add more international elements with the global network of Hannover Milano Fairs, aiming to doubling the international exhibitor and buyer numbers. Meanwhile, leading industrial enterprises including ABB, Inductotherm Group, Fuji Electric, Fanuc, Ebner, Eirich, ASK, WM Technologies, Insertec, Nederman, ABP, Gibsou, Elkem, Mingzhi Technology, FLOW-3D, MAGMA, Xinyan Industry, Calderys, Pyrotek, Allied Mineral, FMS, KOYO, Kurtz and Nabertherm have actively registered the show.
The history of more than twenty years has witnessed the resplendence in this industry and Metal + Metallurgy China has built its golden brand with powerful strength. Industriepolitik 2026: „Raus aus dem Jammertal, rauf auf den Lösungsweg“

Der Wirtschaftsverband Stahl- und Metallverarbeitung (WSM) fordert konkrete Sofortmaßnahmen zur Stärkung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit: Aussetzung des nationalen CO2-Preises für die Industrie und Abschaffung des Solidaritätszuschlags. „Wir müssen raus aus dem Jammertal, rauf auf den Lösungsweg”, betont WSM-Hauptgeschäftsführer Christian Vietmeyer. Beide Maßnahmen seien kurzfristig umsetzbar und würden 2026 direkt wirken.
