Temperature monitoring system for oil quench processes

PhoenixTM Oil Quench system (Patent Pending GB1509136.6) is monitoring the temperature at various depths within the product and locations around the batch and can provide valuable data on the temperature profile.

von | 20.04.16

During the oil quench products within the batch
can sometimes experience distortion problems, which may have several causes
including flow patterns, temperature variations, etc. Monitoring the
temperature at various depths within the product and locations around the batch
can provide valuable data on the temperature profile of the part throughout the
complete heating and cooling cycle. However, monitoring component temperature
from a data logger external to the furnace is not possible, so the PhoenixTM
Oil Quench system (Patent Pending GB1509136.6), which is able to travel
throughout the process with the products, is the answer.

The system travels through the furnace similar
to a production batch, monitoring temperatures up to 950°C at various points of
the furnace for surveying the furnace, or fixed to production parts to measure
core and surface temperatures.

In the subsequent oil quench the system monitors
the temperatures at a sampling interval down to 0,5 sec. This provides exact
data for optimizing the oil flow as well as the setup of the batch.

All Data is analysed in the Thermal View
software. A comprehensive set of tools allows for example the calculation of
gradients or time at temperatures but also an automated CQI-9 report.
