With BilletXpress, EMA Indutec GmbH has developed a new concept in the field of inductive billet heating. The heart of the new system is the fully digital converter of the type TIV. In the directly controlled product version, a classic power factor correction consisting of capacitors and chokes is completely dispensed with.
This not only generates significant savings in terms of investment costs and space requirements compared to previous systems, but also allows the customer to freely select an arbitrary fixed frequency "by a simple mouse-click" at any time. In this way overheating or undercooling of the ends can be prevented by adapting the operating frequency to the billet geometry. So-called field extenders, which absorb a part of the energy at the expense of the electrical efficiency, are thereby completely eliminated. In total, the new BilletXpress can reduce investment costs while increasing energy efficiency. Hence, this innovative concept offers an attractive trade-off between high heating quality as well as improved price-performance ratio. EMA Indutec GmbH sets with “BilletXpress” new standards in the area of inductive billet heating.
