Shengyong Du becomes CEO of Aichelin China

Aichelin, one of the world leaders for industrial heat treatment, has appointed Shengyong Du as the new Managing Director for the Chinese market. The trained industrial engineer will direct company business from Beijing, being responsible for two production sites, five after-sales centres, and two distribution sites.

Du has studied at the Institute for Industrial Furnaces and Heat Engineering at RWTH Aachen and was recognized by the German Academic Exchange Service in 2002 for his outstanding scientific achievements. As far back as 1996, he forged a cooperation with Voestalpine Industrieanlagenbau (now Primetals) from China. Du has been working in the plant engineering and industrial furnaces industry for 20 years, collecting valuable experience as design engineer, project manager, sales director, and later as Vice President for the Chinese branch of SMS group.
In January 2015, Du joined Aichelin China as COO and was responsible for the gradual optimization of all processes and procedures. As CEO, he will replace Sun Yefan, who founded Aichelin China 30 years ago and will remain with the company in an advisory capacity. In addition, Du is a member of the Chinese Society for Metals and Secretary General of the RWTH Aachen Alumni Club in China.
