02.06.2020. As part of the ongoing strategy process, the Supervisory Board of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar (SHS) has decided in favor of identical staffing for the management of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar as well as that of the Boards of Directors of Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke (Dillinger) and Saarstahl AG.

Dr. Günter Luxenburger of Dillinger, and Dr. Klaus Richter of Saarstahl, both Sales Directors for their respective companies, were appointed as additional Managing Directors of SHS, effective 1 July 2020. The two Sales Directors will continue to perform their functions at Dillinger and Saarstahl, respectively. As of 1 July 2020, the SHS Board of Management will therefore consist of Tim Hartmann, Chairman; Martin Baues; Jörg Disteldorf (as the designated successor to Peter Schweda); Dr. Günter Luxenburger; and Dr. Klaus Richter.

“These personnel decisions will forge even closer ties in the cooperation between Dillinger and Saarstahl,” explained Reinhard Störmer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SHS and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Montan-Stiftung-Saar. “The Management Boards of Dillinger and Saarstahl and the management of SHS are now identical in terms of personnel. This means that a unified and competent management team is ready to shape the future of the SHS Group and its subsidiaries with quick decisions as well as to further advance the possibilities for cooperation and synergies in the area of sales.”

DHS: Martin Baues for Albert Hettrich in the Management Board

Albert Hettrich will leave his position as Chief Representative of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar and as a member of the Management Board of DHS – Dillinger Hütte Saarstahl AG (DHS) on 1 July 2020. For almost 40 years, he has had a decisive influence on the development of Saarland’s steel industry in various functions in politics and business. Hettrich will continue to serve the local steel industry as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Montan-Stiftung-Saar as well as President of the VDS (Verband der Saarhütten) iron and steelworks association. Martin Baues, Technical Director of Saarstahl and Dillinger, was appointed as his successor on the DHS Management Board.

“We would all like to thank Albert Hettrich for this successful teamwork and for the goals we have achieved together to secure the future viability of Dillinger and Saarstahl. His commitment and sound knowledge have made him highly esteemed in Saarland and beyond,” said Reinhard Störmer.
