Singular power control of infrared radiant gas heaters

Conventional gas-fired infrared heaters operate in the middle wavelength range at about 1,000 °C and a max. energy density of about 250 kW/sqm. The GoGaS porous burners reach the short-wave infrared range with a radiator core temperature of about 1,450 °C and come to a max. energy density of about 1,000 kW/sqm. This technology is of interest for warming-up and drying processes.

Heat transfer by radiation considerably differs in the mode of action of convective drying processes. Generally, higher heat transfer rates are substantially achieved, while the operational readiness within minutes is guaranteed. Infrared radiant gas heaters produce a homogeneous surface radiation.

Conventional gas-fired infrared heaters operate in the middle wavelength range at about 1,000 °C and a max. energy density of about 250 kW/m2. The GoGaS porous burners reach the short-wave infrared range with a radiator core temperature of about 1,450 °C and come to a max. energy density of about 1,000 kW/m2. This technology is of interest for warming-up and drying processes, since the performance of existing plants can be increased without major alterations.

In order to improve the process heat controllability, the company offers a system with which it is possible to control each singular infrared radiant gas heater of a series automatically depending on the requirements of the performance. For individual control, no special radiator is required. It can be applied in any existing GoGaS infrared installation. Components of individual control are a porous burner or metal fiber burner, a special mixing tube with integrated volume control unit, a pneumatic cylinder for driving the flow control unit and a proportional control valve. The properties of the infrared radiant heater technology and the individual control give a high degree of process reliability and thus improve product quality.
