The plant is to be located in the Baie Comeau region of the Canadian province of Quebec at Lefebvre and will be a key part of the aluminium recycling process within the local smelter operation. Commissioning is scheduled for March 2020.
The reason for placing the order with ABP was the support they received during the planning process. A further key factor was that ABP was able to offer Lefebvre the opportunity to visit ABP customers in the USA with similar plant configurations so that they could get a genuine impression of ABP plants in practice. Flexibility was then the decisive factor: ABP met all customer specifications and requirements, offers local service support and CSA certification of the electrical system. Engineering and plant construction will be carried out in the USA. For ABP, the conclusion of this deal was very meaningful in view of the further development in this market: The customer intends to duplicate this newly established process with other aluminium smelters worldwide. In this context, the productivity of the processes based on ABP plant technology plays a crucial role: both the customer and the ABP experts expect a short-term ROI. "We chose ABP because they are known for their professionalism, competence and know-how, fast response times and mainly local support", concludes the Canadian customer.
