KS Roll Forming chooses EFD Induction and EHE Consumables for their first HF welding line

The Dutch company KS Roll Forming decided to invest in a Weldac system for their first high frequency welding line. After careful consideration, KS Roll Forming chose a 350 kW dual contact induction high frequency Weldac system. EHE Consumables, who offers the full turn-key solution for the high frequency scarfing and welding process, will supply the induction coils, impeders and OD scarfing tools for this system.

“EFD Induction is a specialist in induction welding and has up-to-date equipment that fits with our production process,” says General Manager Dennis Matthijssen at KS Roll Forming.
The new welding line can produce profiles up to 160 mm in height and 200 mm in width, with a thickness up to 4 mm, at a speed of 60 m/min. It has a pre-punch capacity 1,600 kN with 40 unique tools.
“Especially the combination of punching possibilities, together with the HF welding, makes this line unique and capable of producing a wide range of profiles,” Matthijssen explains.
In designing the new line, KS Roll Forming were able to draw on their considerable roll forming experience whilst relying on EHE Consumables for the welding process applications support.
Utilising two-piece flange mounted coils and return flow impeders, the first profiles were produced in a test run back in April. Since then, KS Roll Forming have introduced more complicated profiles into the mill and have worked closely with EHE Consumables in doing some fine tuning of OD bead removal for specific products.

KS Roll Forming is part of KS Industries B.V. (formally KS Profiel B.V.) – a family business that started more than 45 years ago and has grown into a global organisation that devises, designs and produces high-quality profile solutions. The company embarked on designing and installing their first HF welding line for special and complex profiles at the start of 2019.
