The JSW Dolvi Works, located in the state of Maharashtra, on the west coast of India, aims to increase its capacities to enable production of high-quality strip of carbon structure steel, low alloy DP and TRIP steels, API and HSLA grades. The expansion plan includes complete facilities starting from iron making, steel melting, slab casting and a hot strip mill with an annual capacity of 5 million t.
Fives will supply two Stein Digit@l Furnace for the new hot strip mill. The Stein Digit@l Furnace will have the highest slab reheating furnace capacity installed in India to date: 450 t/a. The furnaces ensure homogeneous heating due to the new generation of AdvanTek burners which are all located on the furnace sidewalls. The furnaces will be equipped with the Virtuo Edge-R system. This is a level 2 process optimization system, which enables control of the slab temperature profile in a real-time mode.
The Stein Digit@l Furnace allows for high environmental performance, low fuel consumption and unrivalled ultra-low NOx emissions for any range of mill production.
