On 19 June, ACHEMA 2015 ended in Frankfurt. More than 166,000 participants used the five day event to see the offerings of 3,813 exhibitors for the chemical, pharma and food industry.
“We are very happy that not only the figures add up, but obviously the quality of the event has been  perceived as very good by all participants”, said Dr.-Ing. Thomas Scheuring. “The atmosphere was great, and the feedback we have received so far was very positive.” Prof. Dr. Kurt Wagemann, Executive Director of DECHEMA e.V., agreed with respect to the congress: “Our choice of focus topics was just right – this has been proven by the number of people in the lecture halls. And the panel discussions on bioeconomy vs. shale gas and on the energy turnaround obviously hit the mark.” The next ACHEMA will take place in Frankfurt from 11-15 June 2018.

ResponsibleSteel and LESS aisbl Urge Robust, Scrap-Conscious Approach to Effective European Steel Decarbonisation

ResponsibleSteel and the Low Emission Steel Standard (LESS aisbl) jointly released a new policy briefing, ‘The Steel Decarbonisation Scale’, urging European policymakers to adopt a more robust and realistic approach to steel decarbonisation – one that recognises the physical limits of scrap supply and incentivises genuine emissions reductions across all steel production routes.
