Metallic 3D printing became an established technology for producing complex one-off parts and demanding small series a long time ago. But the potential of Additive Manufacturing is still far from being fully exploited. Research and application technology experts are busy working on the next generation: industrial 3D printing designed to lay the foundation for industrial-scale mass production. Experts feel that aluminium has a critical role to play here.
Themed Pavilion flags up potential
At the new special area the ACAM and exhibitors will not only be showcasing equipment, machinery and software but also selected aluminium components produced by 3D printers.
Aluminium in 3D printing is particularly suited for components that are required to be heat and load resistant such as functional prototypes, mechanical components for the automotive sector or for aviation & aerospace.
ALUMINIUM 2020 will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 6 to 8 October. For further information please visit: www.aluminium-messe.com
