iMT Taiwan surpassed expectations

Held over three days from 2 to 4 December 2015 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre, International Metal Technology Taiwan (iMT Taiwan) surpassed expectations. The exhibition attracted 4,657 trade professionals and full attendance at the keynote industry conference. 172 global industry players and Taiwan’s most prominent market leaders participated at the first iMT in Taiwan.

Presenting top-notch technologies and cutting-edge innovations from 172 global industry players and Taiwan’s most prominent market leaders, the exhibition opened a world of discoveries for new machinery, equipment, and other products and solutions to boost manufacturing performance and supply chain efficiency for metal businesses. Mr. Gerd Keim, President of Kaigo Co., Ltd. and the organizer of iMT Taiwan expressed, “we are happy to have delivered a meaningful show to the industry’s expectations. With the wonderful performance and outcome at this year’s edition, we are confident of bringing an even bigger and better show in 2016 on par with Taiwan’s metal markets dynamic growth”.
iMT Taiwan showcased a wealth of relevant technological needs for Taiwan’s vigorous metal industries and augment the country’s position as a top global metal producer and exporter to worldwide markets. The exhibition boasts 13 product categories across the 4,550 sqm exhibition area from Material Science and Engineering, Heat Technology, Metallurgy, Foundry, Forging, Molding, Coating, Joint and Cut Technology, Metal Forming Technology, Tube Machinery and Equipment, Wire Machinery and Equipment, Semi-finished and Finished Products, and Turnkey Equipment.
Strong show floor performance, exhibitor and visitor endorsements achieved An impressive line-up of Taiwan-made products stretched across the showground. “iMT Taiwan is professionally organized. We have met many suitable international buyers and we are very satisfied with this exhibition. We have Russian buyers who visited our booth and our company. Yesterday we have sealed our first deal. We will continue to exhibit in this show!,” said Project Manager Bruce Chien from SHYH HWA STAINLESS STEEL TUBE CO., LTD. Echoing this is President Ryan Wu from Corestra Technology Corp, whose booth was amongst the strongest crowd pullers on the show floor, “Thank you Kaigo for organizing iMT Taiwan. It gave us a great opportunity to showcase products of Bruker from Germany. We are satisfied with the venue and the layout. This is the first time we exhibit and the result has surpassed our expectation. We have met many potential customers from the first day. All the visitors are professional buyers from the industry. We will definitely come back next year.”Exciting displays, live machinery demonstrations and presentations on equipment use drew longer visit from serious buyers and contributed to beneficial networking and sourcing outcomes. According to Mr. Suzuki Hideomi, Director of Industrial Gas Division, Taiyo Nippon Sanso Japan, “We got to talk to exhibitors related to heat treatment, which was very fruitful for developing our sales strategy in the future. We would like to consider exhibiting next year!” Highlighting iMT Taiwan’s significance as an effective procurement platform, Mr. Anurag Bhadauriya, Zonal Manager of Bhartia Alloys Bhartia Pulverisers India said, "I’m here to find clients and did meeting with several people. Taiwan is advanced in technology and products and we can have some good association between India and Taiwan. It is a good exhibition and I feel good to visit this exhibition.
A total of 712 participants benefited from the sold-out IMT Industry Conference held on 3rd December 2015. Distinguished speakers including Mr. Winfried Resch from VDMA – the German Engineering Federation, Dr. Hermann Stumpp – President of THERMPROCESS (Messe Düsseldorf) and Dr Heinz-Jürgen Büchner – Managing Director Industrials / Automotive of IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG each shared best practices and innovations to address real market trends and process demands. Topics presented are; ‘Industry 4.0 – Metallurgical Engineering and Best Practice of Metallurgical Machinery’, ‘Safety of machinery – Europe’s way to deal with it’, ‘Application of Thermal Processes in Industrial Furnaces for the Production of Metals – Overview and Actual Trends’ and ‘Current Trends in the Global Metal Industry’ respectively. Mr. Yu-Soong Chen – Honorary Advisor of the Chung Hung Steel Corporation also received overwhelming response for his presentation on ‘Taiwan Metal Industry’s Prospects and Strategies of Moving Towards High Value-added Products’ that brought deeper awareness of numerous developmental prospects for metal businesses in Taiwan.
iM Taiwan 2015 scored a promising start to be the ideal gateway to find new business in Taiwan, gain insights of emerging growth sectors within Taiwan as well as its surrounding competitor markets, and develop strategic networks with other industry experts from across the globe. International Metal Technology Taiwan Exhibition and Conference will return next year at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre.

MAEGMA Minerals Partners with Primetals Technologies for MIDREX Flex Plant Construction

On May 6, 2025, MAEGMA Minerals signed a cooperation agreement with Primetals Technologies for the construction of a MIDREX Flex plant with an annual capacity of 2 million tons of HBI in Lumut, Perak, Malaysia. The new plant, delivered in collaboration with Midrex Technologies, Inc. (Midrex), will enable MAEGMA to meet the growing demand for high-quality HBI in Southeast Asia. Commissioning is planned for 2029.

Uniper und thyssenkrupp Uhde bündeln Kräfte für Schlüsseltechnologie der globalen Wasserstoffwirtschaft

thyssenkrupp Uhde und Uniper gehen eine strategische Partnerschaft ein, um eine zentrale Technologie für den globalen Wasserstoffhandel zur industriellen Reife zu bringen: den großtechnischen Ammoniak-Cracker. In einem Ammoniak-Cracker wird Ammoniak bei hoher Temperatur katalytisch in seine Bestandteile Wasserstoff und Stickstoff zerlegt und anschließend in einer Aufreinigung reiner Wasserstoff erzeugt. Gemeinsam wird hierfür im ersten Schritt eine Demonstrationsanlage mit einer Kapazität von 28 Tonnen Ammoniak pro Tag am Uniper-Standort Gelsenkirchen-Scholven errichtet. Die Anlage wird eine der ersten ihrer Art weltweit sein und soll u. a. als Grundlage für das geplante Wasserstoff-Importterminal in Wilhelmshaven dienen, wo die Technologie großindustriell in einem zweiten Schritt zur Anwendung kommen soll.
