Globalisation, the importance of aluminium in the new mobility, digitalisation, recycling and sustainability are the central themes of this year’s fair. "The aluminium industry is facing a number of major challenges worldwide. We will make these the theme of ALUMINIUM, highlight the opportunities and growth prospects for the industry and make it clear why the material will be even more indispensable in future," says Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel, Event Director of ALUMINIUM.
Above all, however, the fair will make the USP of aluminium visible in the most important applications – in the automotive industry, the transport sector, building and construction, mechanical engineering or the packaging industry.
In six exhibition halls, global players, specialists and young innovative companies will be showing the material’s range of products and services and the whole spectrum of the industry – from aluminium production to machinery and plant for processing and end products to recycling.
ALUMINIUM is the global market place for its sector
"ALUMINIUM has a central orientation function – not only as a technology platform but also as a global trading centre. Proof of this is the large investment volume with which visitors come to ALUMINIUM. At previous events this amounted to more than € 14 billion," says Jungmichel. Almost every second visitor to the fair comes to Düsseldorf with concrete procurement intentions.
In addition to the megatrends New Mobility and Digitisation, ALUMINUM 2020 will place particular emphasis on the topics of resource efficiency and sustainability, because the economic development of the aluminium industry will also depend on the resource productivity of companies in the future.
