The new facility for the production of high-quality longitudinal beams for trucks has now been officially opened. With an investment of approximately EUR 70 million (USD 80 million), the international steel and technology group is strengthening its market position in the North American commercial vehicle sector. The plant is currently in the start-up phase with full production expected by mid-2027. The expansion of production capacity will create a total of 110 new jobs.
The new production facility produces longitudinal beams for class 6, 7, and 8 trucks. These are key structural components used in the tractor units of semi-trailer trucks. With this additional capacity, voestalpine will fulfill long-term supply contracts with renowned North American truck manufacturers and further expand its position as a leading supplier of high-quality special pipes and profiles for the commercial vehicle industry. The production capacity of the site will be doubled to a total of 80,000 tons.

Investment creates new jobs and growth
With an investment of approximately EUR 70 million, voestalpine is expanding its existing Jeffersonville site by approximately 15,000 square meters of production space. In addition to the construction of the new hall, the expansion also included the acquisition of state-of-the-art production facilities for producing high-quality longitudinal beams.

Of the total of 110 planned new jobs, around 37 have already been filled, and the plant will be fully staffed when it reaches full capacity in the second half of 2027. The voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation currently has around 510 employees.
