This is the highest award given by the internationally renowned platform for sustainability assessments.

In addition, the international steel producers exemplary commitment to sustainability has been confirmed by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP): In addition to receiving the top overall rating of A, Swiss Steel Group also received an A rating for supplier management.

Platinum medal from EcoVadis

This is the fourth time that Swiss Steel Group has undergone an assessment by EcoVadis. Each time, an improvement was achieved or demonstrated, which earned the Swiss Steel Group the platinum medal in February 2026, following bronze, silver, and gold, and thus the highest rating from EcoVadis.

With 86 out of 100 points, Swiss Steel Group is now among the world’s best commercial enterprises on the path to green transformation. Only one percent of the more than 130,000 companies evaluated by EcoVadis have so far achieved platinum status in the EcoVadis rating system.

EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading assessment platforms for sustainability and corporate social re-sponsibility (CSR) and is now one of the most important standards for measuring sustainable business practices. The assessments are based on international sustainability standards such as the ten princi-ples of the UN Global Compact (UNGC), the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and ISO 26000.

Top rating A from CDP

Further proof of the Swiss Steel Group’s intensive commitment to sustainability is the additional A rating from CDP for supplier management – supplementing the A rating already achieved for climate protec-tion. Both ratings are based on the CDP climate questionnaire, which is completed once a year. For supplier management, four specific categories are reviewed separately and combined into a separate rating. This rating particularly recognizes the Swiss Steel Group’s strong performance in four areas:

  • Management’s assessment of the risks and opportunities associated with climate change for the company

  • Systematic recording of greenhouse gas emissions (carbon accounting)

  • Strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, risk management, and leveraging potential

  •  Corporate governance with regard to climate change
