On November 8, Tenova, a provider of sustainable solutions for the green transition of the metals industry, signed two contracts with Baowu during the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) Signing Ceremony of China Baowu International Procurement, held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai, China.
The event was organized by Baowu and included the participation of Mr. Zhang Qing, Chairman of OBEI Co., Ltd. (the Industrial Products Purchasing Company of Baowu), and Mr. Paolo Gaboardi, EVP Pomini Tenova, a well-known Tenova brand and worldwide leader in the production of advanced roll shop equipment.
Contracts between Baowu and Tenova
The first contract includes a set of four automatic CNC roll grinders with two automatic inspection stations, served by the automatic roll loading system with two loaders. These will be installed at a plant where two new cold rolling mills for silicon steel will be in operation.
The scope of the second contract includes two automatic CNC roll grinders and an automatic inspection station, equipped with an automatic roll loading system, which will be installed in the roll shop of a new cold rolling mill for silicon steel production.
Both roll shopsare designed with advanced automation concepts being all the operations secured in a segregated area where no human intervention is required. Rolls are produced swiftly with the highest safety, quality, and efficiency, minimizing production costs. Additionally, all processes are digitally monitored through Pomini Tenova’s condition monitoring system.
