This marks the first order for NSCarbolex™ Neutral duplex stainless steel pipes by Nippon Steel.
NSCarbolex™ Neutral employs a “mass balance approach”, allocating a portion of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions savings—such as CO₂ reductions achieved through Nippon Steel’s internal decarbonization projects—to specific steel products. The company has obtained a limited third‑party assurance and issues certificates confirming the GHG reduction allocations. These certified savings can be claimed by customers as reductions in their Scope 3 emissions and upstream emissions at the product level.
