Stala will use Circle Green steel for example in kitchen worktops, sinks, backsplash panels, wall panels and furniture doors.
Outokumpu’s breakthrough product Circle Green helps Stala to meet the growing demand for more sustainable kitchen materials. Circle Green has the same properties, high quality and durability as Outokumpu’s traditional stainless steel, but its production has been optimized to be as low-emission as possible. The low carbon footprint of Circle Green is achieved by using low-emission raw materials, maximizing the use of recycled materials and using only low-carbon energy in the production.
“Consumer demand for low-emission products and more transparent information about sustainability claims is growing. We chose Circle Green because it has the up to 93% lower carbon footprint compared to the global industry average,” says Pasi Härkönen, Managing Director for Stala. “It enables us to offer products with a significantly lower carbon footprint and strengthens our sustainability commitment.”
“Circle Green is the first innovation of its kind worldwide. Pioneering companies like Stala have seen the business value in offering Circle Green to their customers as part of their solutions. In addition to the small carbon footprint, it is possible to calculate a product-specific carbon footprint for each delivery,” says Pekka Heinonen,General Manager, Sales Finland, Stainless Europe, Outokumpu.
Outokumpu and Stala have been working together for more than 50 years. The use of Circle Green is a new milestone in the long-standing partnership, underlining the companies’ shared ambition to find sustainable innovations.
“We are proud of our long-standing cooperation with Stala. We share the same ambitious sustainability goals and are pleased to be able to support Stala’s sustainability journey with Circle Green steel,” Heinonen continues.
