The installed system meets all the assured parameters. The furnace plant with a capacity of 750 kg achieves a melting rate of around 1,200 kg/hr, a melting time of around 36 minutes and a specific energy consumption of 549 kWh per ton for steel at 1,600 °C.
The short project duration, quick installation time and low construction effort on the part of the cus-tomer as a consequence of the modular design have provided impressive evidence of the ad-vantages of the JUPITER BOXLine concept.
Modular arrangement, short delivery time, high energy efficiency
The JUPITER BOXLine comprises compact melting furnaces with a capacity of up to 1.5 tons and forms part of the modularly designed JUPITER product line with which OTTO JUNKER focuses on standardized types of equipment. The purpose is to reduce planning times, realizing projects more quickly while at the same time offering solutions which are both economical and technically relia-ble. The modules are designed for energy efficiency, potential for automation and maintenance-friendliness – with full scalability for all sorts of applications.
The lessons learned will now be fed into the further development of the equipment configuration – for future projects in Europe and beyond.
Main features of the Jupiter product line:
- standardized induction melting plants for ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- configurations for various load sizes and materials
- short project durations due to pre-planned and modular design
- energy-efficient and maintenance-friendly
- design and manufacture in Germany and the Czech Republic
