This is precisely why the Chinese manufacturer of cleaning systems, GRT, has now made the decision to establish a subsidiary in Memmingerberg under the name GRTclean Europe GmbH in order to be much closer to its existing and new customers throughout Europe in the future.
“Our goal is to be able to provide rapid on-site support and convince new companies of our high-tech solutions,” says GRT founder and owner Gerry Ni. The plan is to establish sales and service centers throughout Europe, laboratories for cleanliness testing, and, in the medium term, plant production and assembly.
GRT has gained an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing for Europe in Dieter Abler. He will be based in Memmingerberg and will be responsible for establishing the European location with immediate effect.
Who is GRT?
While GRT is still in its infancy in Europe, the brand is already well known in China – as a manufacturer with high technological standards that has built up a strong position in the field of industrial component cleaning over many years.
GRT was founded in 2010 by Gerry Ni. After completing his studies, he started as a mechanical engineer in the production department of a large German DAX-listed company in Regensburg. “This is where I learned about the product quality requirements in Germany and Europe – and that the foundation for this is laid during development and production,” reports Gerry Ni. “I now pass on the knowledge I gained during this time about the high standards that exist, especially in Germany, to my employees. It forms the basis for our performance standards at GRT.”
After several years in Regensburg, Gerry Ni returned and headed up the Chinese production division of another large German corporation. As part of his work, he learned about the requirements of industrial cleaning and familiarized himself with the subject.
In 2010, he finally took the plunge into self-employment in China. He bought a small mechanical manufacturing plant in Wuxi, which gradually developed into a company that now has over 100 employees worldwide. GRT now has locations in Thailand, Singapore, and the USA (Michigan) – and, most recently, GRTclean Europe.
“We started small, very down-to-earth,” says Ni. “The fact that large international companies work with us today is the result of many years of hard work and consistent learning.” For Gerry Ni, however, this is only the beginning of the journey: “We are not standing still here, but following our customers. Just like them, we want to be represented worldwide in order to be a good and reliable partner for them locally. In the medium term, I would like to see a GRT team with a strong international presence. We will continue to grow and constantly expand our expertise and quality.”
Over 300 internationally active customers with high standards
Today, after only 16 years of company history, GRT serves more than 300 well-known, globally active companies. GRT supplies industries in which cleanliness requirements are particularly high in some cases, including the automotive industry and its suppliers (drive systems, precision mechanics, etc.), electronics, medical technology, and aerospace.
In many of these applications, the relevant particle sizes are in the very fine range. GRT’s cleaning systems are therefore designed to reliably meet such requirements – with reproducible processes and technology that draws on comparable projects worldwide.
“Our customers define very precisely what they want,” says Ni. “Dealing with that is not something you learn overnight. But we have developed this skill over many years.”
This collaboration proves that GRT is already confidently operating on the international stage: standards, certifications, cleanliness requirements, documentation obligations, and international quality standards – requirements that GRT masters with ease.
The integration of specific supplier parts according to customer requirements is also no problem for GRT. Would a company like to integrate a specific robot or a special pump into its cleaning system? GRT is happy to offer this flexibility.
