May 2024 | DMT, part of TÜV Nord Group’s Energy & Resources Business Unit, has acquired a majority stake in the Brazilian company Saga Consultoria, bringing the company under the DMT brand umbrella.
With this additional site in Belo Horizonte, the engineering and consulting service provider has expanded its market presence. Clients in Latin America will have access to the entire range of raw materials services of DMT through the company’s new hub.
Jens-Peter Lux, CEO of DMT, sees the majority stake in Saga Consultoria as an opportunity to develop future markets.

Led by company founders Saulo Liberato and Luiz Gabriel de Oliveira Lima, the Saga Consultoria team consists of 15 geologists, mining engineers, and technicians. In the past, Saga Consultoria focussed on consulting services in the mining sector, including feasibility studies, profitability analyses, and resource estimations. As DMT, Saga Consultoria now additionally provides access to the comprehensive range of services along the entire raw materials value chain and beyond.
Access to services along the entire raw materials value chain
DMT’s service portfolio in the raw materials sector covers all stages of the value chain. These include resource exploration and evaluation, feasibility studies and detailed mine planning, construction supervision and project management, engineering consultancy, optimization and training, digitalization and automation, due diligence for the financial and insurance sectors, decommissioning concepts and planning, sustainability/ESG concepts, and implementation consulting.
Furthermore, DMT is also active in the plant construction and process engineering, infrastructure and civil engineering, and energy sectors. Companies and public institutions in Latin America will now also be able to receive assistance from DMT Group in geothermal energy projects, plant planning, and tunneling.
