The “Vision 2032” strategy was first introduced at EMO 2023 and aims to become a global leader in technology-driven manufacturing solutions. DN Solutions is rapidly approaching this goal.

“Since our founding in 1976, we have for the first time over 300,000 machines in operation worldwide. DN Solutions has established itself as a trusted partner for various industries – globally and also in Europe,” says Won-jong Kim, CEO of DN Solutions. “Through strategic partnerships and local investments, we will further expand our technological leadership and global presence. This provides our customers with access to state-of-the-art products and services.”

Key Milestones Over the Past Two Years

  • Expanded Installation Base: Since its founding in 1976, DN Solutions has for the first time over 300,000 machines in operation worldwide and has significantly increased market share in key countries.
  • Industry Diversification: The company is rapidly expanding beyond the automotive and semiconductor sectors into areas such as aerospace and defense.
  • Leadership in Advanced Technology: DN Solutions demonstrates its innovation power through the introduction of the DLX series in additive manufacturing using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). With its equity investment in Carbon Black, a Korean-American AI company, DN Solutions aims to further advance the development of manufacturing AI.
  • Global Growth: To strengthen its global presence, the company commissioned its German R&D center, began construction of a new plant in Gütersloh and an R&D center in India, and opened a new technology center in Chicago, USA.

HELLER Acquisition: A New Chapter in Europe

On August 26, 2025, DN Solutions signed an agreement in Nürtingen to acquire 100 percent of the shares in the HELLER Group. The transaction still requires regulatory approval. Together, both companies are expected to achieve annual revenues of approximately 2 billion euros.

CEO Kim affirmed at EMO in Hannover that DN Solutions will honor all HELLER customer contracts and ensure local customer support. He also confirmed that HELLER’s management team and top talents will be retained, thereby preserving the technical know-how and customer trust built up over 130 years.

“The tradition, management philosophy, and technological excellence that HELLER has built will continue to remain central components,” said Kim. “DN Solutions and HELLER will act as one unit and together enter into even stronger partnerships in German and European industry.”

Greater Value for European Manufacturing

With the acquisition of HELLER, DN Solutions aims to strengthen the German machine tool sector and offer European customers a comprehensive complete solution. Both companies will leverage the stronger financial foundation and global scale effects to build a more resilient supply chain and deploy modern IT technologies for intelligent machine tools. These efforts will increase the competitiveness of DN Solutions’ European manufacturing and provide added value to customers.

Rethink:Metallurgy: Steel under the influence of trade measures: politics rule over the market

The European steel industry – mills as well as distributors and steel users – faces a market that is no less than bizarre. For years already, cheap imports from Asia were one problem. On top of that came the duties on steel imported to the USA. Europe had to act, and it did, through safeguard measures and CBAM fees. This is affecting the development of steel supply and the selling prices of steel products in an artificial way. It’s not the balance of supply and demand that defines the market; it’s politics.
