Asas has invested in a new 150 MN extrusion press. The company can thus manufacture large-format aluminum products, including profiles with a width of up to 900 mm, a diameter of 650 mm, and a length of 30 m.

Asas strives to raise its industry standards through progressive investments while ensuring sustainability in all phases. With the new 150 MN extrusion press, Asas expands production capacities and now operates one of Europe’s largest profile production lines. This addition, together with the existing 62 MN extrusion press, enables the company to manufacture large-format aluminum products, including profiles with a width of up to 900 mm, a diameter of 650 mm, a length of 30 m, and seamless tubes. This development positions Asas as a significant company in industries such as railway, automotive, marine, energy, renewable energy, and transportation.

Innovative Hybrex Press

Asas has also invested in a 45 MN Hybrex press production line specifically tailored to the company’s needs. Developed by SMS Group, this advanced line features fully electric die heating, billet heating, and aging ovens that improve production efficiency and can reduce CO2 emissions by 530 tons annually. The facility, designed with the automotive industry in mind, will produce structural profiles such as body parts, battery boxes, crash management components, safety beams, and ABS/ESP blocks. Commissioning of the facility is planned by the end of March, and it integrates advanced automation techniques that play an important role in alloy development and the production of high-strength alloys. Sustainability remains a central focus from the investment decision through to the execution phase.

Enhanced Machining Capacities

In its facility, Asas is focused on machining large-format profiles with high precision and consistency. Mechanical processes are managed from a single hub to ensure efficiency and error-free execution. The company utilizes 5-axis CNC machining centers to machine parts up to 30 m in length and 4.3 m in width, while robot-assisted welding lines support projects up to 94 m in length. For mass production, Asas offers specially designed production lines that ensure efficiency and consistency. Additionally, Asas provides subcontracting services for parts and accessories tailored to the specific needs of each project. Advanced automation drives the entire production process, ensuring fast and high-quality results under one roof.

Commitment to Sustainability

Asas’ commitment to sustainability extends beyond investments to its product offerings, which include NexAL aluminum billets. With a CO2 footprint of ≤ 4 t CO2e/t Al, NexAL is produced using low-carbon primary raw materials, high proportions of recycled scrap metal, and renewable energy. Asas ensures traceability from raw materials to final shipment, demonstrating its commitment to environmental responsibility. By offering NesAL, a low-carbon press billet, Asas enables its customers to achieve their sustainability goals and contribute to a greener future.
