Schuler supplies closed-die forging press to Otto Fuchs

Otto Fuchs KG, based in Meinerzhagen, Germany, manufactures high-quality forged pieces, extruded products and rolled rings for the aerospace, automotive, construction and industrial technology industries worldwide. The products made of aluminium, magnesium, titanium and nickel alloys are used wherever safety, weight, reliability and durability are important. This is why the company, which was founded in 1910, attaches great importance to the highest quality in its production lines – such as the 30.000 t closed-die forging press that Otto Fuchs ordered from Schuler.

The MH-30000 hydraulic system is supplied with press mechanics, adaptation of water hydraulics, transport, full assembly and CE certification. The custom-made products will include aircraft landing gear, engine discs and structural parts. Start of production of the system is scheduled for January 2021. Hydraulic forging presses are suitable where high forces and long working distances are required: their unlimited work energy allows the maximum force over the entire stroke. The infinite adjustment of the working strokes permits optimum adaptation of the press cycle to the forming process; large slide strokes for long components provide an expanded range of possible products. And the adaptation of the forming speed to the process produces superior workpiece quality and long die service life. (Source: Schuler AG)
