The new plant comprises two Maerz walking hearth furnaces with automatic loading and unloading device, a Maerz car bottom furnace for pre-heating sensitive material grades, and an entry and exit roller conveyor. The plant – operated in three shifts – has an hourly capacity of 35 t and is designed for heating billets and ingots to a maximum rolling temperature of 1,320 °C.
In addition to the mechanical part of the plant, the scope of supply also comprises the entire electrical, automation and visualization equipment.
Deutsche Edelstahlwerke Specialty Steel GmbH & Co. KG is a company that produces and processes long stainless steel products. It has facilities in Witten (headquarters), Siegen, Krefeld, Hagen and Hattingen, all in Germany, where around 4,000 employees produce and process almost 1 million t of stainless steel a year.
